Okay I just want to get this out of the way early just to clear everything up because there's a little grey area in here and it could lead to bad things happening. So I'll just tell two stories of what NOT to do that will get you penalty votes / kicked out:
1. The Imprisonment story started about 5 minutes ago. Sam posts a new segment of the story like every 5 minutes. With each segment, he goes to random.org and declare people 'safe' for that imprisonment.
So, uh-oh, the Imprisonment story is almost over and everybody but like 4 (including you!) have been declared safe. You just KNOW it's you that's going! CRAP!! This is going to suck! Better go tell everyone else everything I know - get that information out there. Who cares I'm going anyway might as well spill all before the hammer comes down cause I got like 10 minutes left before it's official right? GOGOGOGO!
2. Exile votes are due in like 20 minutes. It's pretty much confirmed - I'm a goner. Everyone's voted for me the poor citizen. They are going to regret this later. So 20 minutes and the official deadline passes. We enter the spies6chat and Sam is blabbing on and on and on about some stupid announcements that stupid people really should know already. Yawn. Why can't we just get to my inglorious ouster?
I IM some people and they confirm - they all voted for me. Damn. BUT WAIT! It's not official yet! Sam hasn't told me I'm gone! Oh wow I've got like what, 15 minutes to spill all? I'm doomed so no harm in saying what I really think and all that secret information right? Let's start copying conversations and everything I've done to all the people I trust! Who cares I'm going anyway! GOGOGOGO!
Okay so those are the two stories you shouldn't do haha. If you find yourself in those situations - stop! Now obviously, you're about to be (theoretically) eliminated, so perhaps the game rules wouldn't phase you anyway. But if you knowingly break the rules before you are eliminated, I will IP ban you from the site completely and not accept you to play in future games, maybe that doesn't phase you either haha but let's just not do that.
Ideally, with Imprisonments, you treat it like a movie. Turn off the lights, watch the show, and no talking during the movie. Maybe join a chat room and just chit-chat with mindless stuff not directly about the game. But if you find yourself typing "If I'm eliminated, then...." stop yourself. =P
Now with Exiles, you are allowed (within the rules) to say whatever you want before the deadline. If you know you are going but there are 20 minutes still left on the clock don't stop fighting - you can continue to post and voice your theories just don't break any of the rules. =P But once the clock hits 0 then it's time to relax and watch the exile show.
