Now this is what I call a spy slip up! spies6Jenya (18:50:31): Do you think Yvette has played this game before? spies6Robert (18:51:00): I am not willing to play meta-games and try to out people's true alts. spies6Jenya (18:51:08): Well, take the answer in your head spies6Jenya (18:51:31): And then ask "If she's played before, she knows the spies don't find out until Sunday night." spies6Jenya (18:51:52): But somehow "spy knows they're a spy early" made it into her humor. spies6Jenya (18:52:07): I'm tempted to see if anyone has joked about that in previous years on Sunday afternoon. spies6Jenya is available (18:52:33) spies6Robert (18:53:18): can i ask you something? spies6Jenya (18:53:26): Of course. spies6Jenya (18:53:48): And then I will tell you something. spies6Robert (18:53:58): what led you to think spies wouldnt find out until sunday evening spies6Jenya (18:54:14): Everyone's been saying that. spies6Jenya (18:54:22): That this year is different. spies6Robert (18:54:35): that is very... eye opening So yeah, in other words Jenya, knowing from the start that she was a spy, assumed that all of the citizens knew their alignment. In Sam's email to the citizens however, he included that we would find out our alignment on Sunday evening. This is why when she claims "It's what everyone else says", she does not actually cite having the proof from Sam. Her originally thinking Yvette knew because of being an experienced player is what set me thinking, hence me asking the trick question, laying the banana, and asking her out right, how SHE knew the innocents thought everyone found out sunday. If Jenya and Callahan go tonight, we're down to 5 spies. 1 spy on day 1 is good, 2 would be unbelievable.

Jenya, I do not understand the point of this conversation at all, really? Is it to just find out if I have played before, or is it to critique my sense of sarcasm? Or to try and frame me once again with that "She said she is a spy, she is a spy" argument?
I think this is actually a good slip, Robert. Good work. It seems that Jenya has been trying to harp this into people for a few days now, and someone finally turned it on her and got her to stumble.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused as to why this conversation arose in the first place and where "Sunday evening" came from at all. It sounds like just a time taken out of context.
Now, I don't think this slip automatically means Jenya is a spy but it does move her up in my suspicions. This along with the fact that in a chat with Ellis and I, Jenya seemed nervous about potentially getting voted out and seemed to be "asking for votes to protect her."
1:41:18 PM spies6Jenya: If a spy is in danger of exile right now 1:41:19 PM spies6ellis: then it would be a waste of an exile 1:41:34 PM spies6Jenya: Their teammates on that team will rally behind them i think 1:41:53 PM spies6ellis: I agree, unless there's a big push that can't be stopped 1:42:12 PM Paris: or spies may be playing mind games 1:42:15 PM Paris: and letting it play out 1:42:18 PM Paris: and not comming to her defense 1:42:25 PM Paris: making us think the way we do
1:42:43 PM spies6Jenya: Well, I could be in trouble right now but you guys are defending me so to speak. 1:42:55 PM spies6Jenya: If you swung the other way I could easily get voted out. 1:42:56 PM spies6ellis: I don't think any of us three is in danger right now 1:43:04 PM spies6Jenya: I am, Ellis, read everyone's suspicions. 1:43:08 PM spies6ellis: and I don't think we will be unless there's a huge last-minute swing 1:43:12 PM spies6ellis: Jenya, suspicions don't mean votes 1:43:17 PM Paris: right now your playing the game of survivor jenya. trying to gain votes to protect you lol
1:43:19 PM spies6ellis: Pete's most suspicious of me, but I don't think he'll vote for me 1:43:28 PM spies6Jenya: Not really, Paris. 1:43:45 PM Paris: like after this chat, i can easily vote you if need be but i dont feel the inkling to 1:44:00 PM Paris: thats why i dont like telling people i wont vote for them 1:44:16 PM spies6Jenya: Yeah, it's not a good idea, but I still think voting out strong players this early is a bad idea. 1:44:17 PM Paris: its all too clique like or too alliance based for a game like mafia 1:44:17 PM spies6ellis: Paris, at some point you have to make your mind up 1:44:29 PM spies6ellis: and I'd rather that point not be ten minutes before we've got to exile someone 1:44:38 PM spies6ellis: when the spies are scrambling to change everyone's opinions 1:44:43 PM spies6Jenya: One great thing is that after tomorrow we'll have three debates to read not one 1:44:46 PM Paris: i can make my mind but i dont have to go around to tell people im not voting them though
Along with the fact Jenya is paranoid and trying to garner votes does incriminate her a tad bit more. I'm still not convinced fully she's a spy though.

After re-reading it, I understand where she slipped by saying:
You really should summarize what you mean because it wasn't like you actually told us where she slipped. It took me a long time to figure out what you meant.

spies6Robert (18:53:58): what led you to think spies wouldnt find out until sunday evening spies6Jenya (18:54:14): Everyone's been saying that. spies6Jenya (18:54:22): That this year is different. spies6Robert (18:54:35): that is very... eye opening There are two possibilities. #1. It was a slip. Once she realized it she quickly followed up with the this year is different line. #2. It was not a slip at all. She was only saying that she had been told by other players that spies and citizens both normally receive their alignments simultaneously.

Paris, here is the context, the few minutes before. She was upset with me calling her case on yvette stupid, and i was telling her that it was indeed stupid... And that if it wasn't then perhaps i'd have added it to my own case on yvette. spies6Jenya (18:43:09): Like you are trying to make me look dumb for a small point about Yvette in chat Sunday. spies6Jenya (18:43:58): Yvette said she was already a spy way too often. spies6Jenya (18:44:08): Before Sam announced that the spies knew who they were already. spies6Robert (18:44:16): Yet you are basing an entire CASE off of it. spies6Jenya (18:44:19): It's a small point and you guys are making it into a big point. spies6Robert (18:44:21): That, my dear, is dumb. spies6Jenya (18:44:30): No, I am not making a big case, Robert. spies6Jenya is available (18:44:55) spies6Robert (18:45:04): making any case on it is, quite honestly, dumb spies6Jenya (18:45:25): Just keep watching to see if she does the "obvious thing a spy would never do" a lot, Robert. spies6Jenya (18:45:42): It could be a strategy to be so bold no one will ever suspect her. See if more pieces fit over time. spies6Robert (18:45:56): its a strategy i am familiar with spies6Robert (18:46:05): Im not saying shes innocent because she joked about being a spy spies6Robert (18:46:20): i am saying itwas early game joking and has no indication as to her true alignment. spies6Robert (18:46:37): if it was a valid point, dont you think i'd have added it to my case on her? spies6Jenya (18:46:46): It's not a huge point, Robert, spies6Jenya (18:46:58): but it's a coincidence, and if more coincidences happen keep an open mind. spies6Jenya (18:47:13): Remember, we did NOT know the spies knew yet. Only they did. spies6Jenya is available (18:47:28) spies6Jenya (18:50:31): Do you think Yvette has played this game before?

Either way she is saying that the reason she thought it is because of what people are saying. spies6Robert (18:53:58): what led you to think spies wouldnt find out until sunday evening Now that question was directly looking for the answer "Well, our emails from Sam said that alignments won't be revealed until the chat". Any other answer suggests not getting the information from that source... Which suggests being given an alignment from the start.

Everyone got the exact same e-mail. (except with your name/passwords filled in properly.)

So their "You are a spy" message was elsewhere, in their confessional i guess.
In a way, that invalidates the slip. On the other hand, if she logged in and saw she had a "You are a spy" message, she may not have finished reading the email.
I'm reducing the guiltyness of this slip from a prime slip to a 50/50. With the other evidence though, it's still not good looking.
