Prelude - Exile 1:
My name is Father Callahan. These postings are my true inward thoughts and discoveries as a man and servant of God.


Beginning the game, I've tread lightly. I do not want to come off as over-enthusiastic by any means. I have chosen words wisely, and spoken scarcely. Hopefully this will be beneficial to the rest of the game. We'll see where it takes me I suppose.

[16:33] spies6Ariel: Well, each set has two 2's, two 4's, and two 6's.
[16:33] spies6Ariel: They differ in the order.
[16:33] spies6Ariel: Er, wait.
[16:34] spies6Ariel: That's not true. Two of the teams have three 4's.
[16:34] spies6callahan: exactly
[16:34] spies6callahan: and adding the digits of the first and second, you get 26
[16:34] spies6callahan: the third gives you 24
[16:34] spies6Ariel: I also noticed that two of the teams have eleven members, while one has only ten.
[16:34] spies6callahan: these numbers are not random.
[16:35] spies6Ariel: How can you be certain?
[16:35] spies6callahan: its a feeling more than it is a sureness to be honest
[16:36] spies6Ariel: I'm not sure how much relevance it has at the moment, but I think it should be revisited once roles have been assigned.

during the live opening chat tonight, i didn't really get to pay attention as much as i wanted. I was in the middle of modding some electronic equipment of mine and wasn't finished in time to really participate. Although, it seems exciting so far. I can't wait to see how the Lotta Power effects our game here.

Also, the fact that we can only exile in our own group worries me. But, rules are rules. Hope its a lucky shot.

spies6callahan (9:55:19 PM): reason 1 is that the first exile isn't known for accuracy, so we might as well use it to get someone out that is not giving us anything now and probably won't later

spies6callahan (9:55:28 PM): but i think there are other options as well
spies6callahan (9:56:53 PM): reason 2 is kinda the second part of my reason 1 actually. Our actives have more of a chance to slip the longer we have them around, or a chance to show us that they're innocent if they are currently suspect.
spies6callahan (9:57:25 PM): the cons are obvious though, the lurker might be a power role, etc., so i am hesitant in taking this course
spies6Yvette (9:57:46 PM): I don't necessarily know if a lurker is more likely to have a role than an active citizen.
spies6Yvette (9:57:50 PM): But I guess time will tell.
spies6callahan (9:58:10 PM): they're not really, it would just be the (un)luck of the draw
spies6callahan (9:58:48 PM): the reverse side of it is that a lurker with a power role may not even be using it, so its not any good anyway.

spies6callahan (10:48:30 AM): now if she had some aces, some real dirt on you, then yeah, play it
spies6callahan (10:48:45 AM): but when she came out with nothing, it made me wonder why she even tried
spies6Robert (10:48:49 AM): so you feel her case was uncharacteristicly weak, and thus should have waited, while mine is equally weak but shouldn't have been hidden?

spies6Robert (11:02:22 AM): and told them i'd have a case put up in the next 18 hours or so
spies6callahan (11:02:32 AM): so it is POSSIBLE but UNLIKELY that she posted about you out of legitimate suspicions?
spies6Robert (11:03:27 AM): If so, then she's my identical twin, to have come up with a secret case against me, and choosing to post it at that time.
spies6Robert (11:03:39 AM): its also worth noting she had kept her case entirely to herself.

spies6Robert (11:04:00 AM): yet she had the perfect opportunity to, to rebut my claim that she was posting as a knee jerk
spies6callahan (11:04:32 AM): well, to your credit, i can see how your train of logic comes through. Especially how she's like "i lied about robert being citizen blah blah" because its a complete 180
spies6callahan (11:05:05 AM): unfortunately, that doesn't tell me she's a spy, just a terrible and defensive player
spies6Robert (11:05:10 AM): Yeah. I mean, when i was calling her a citizen, i genuinely believed it
spies6callahan (11:05:47 AM): so what it comes down to is at the moment i believe that both of you are citizens
spies6Robert (11:05:58 AM): plus i at least always, quite publicly, advocated that theres a cahnce she was a spy so it wasnt a 180
spies6Robert (11:06:03 AM): in fact more a slow sway that way
spies6Robert (11:06:20 AM): i wont deny its possible, but its unliekly

spies6Robert (11:07:38 AM): if we are both innocents, the best thing that could happen is for both of our lynches to fail, then one of us being imprisoned. Otherwise we'll end up wasting two lynches, as the second one of us flips innocent, the other looks even more guilty.
That said, its a risk im willing to take, as i am convinced she is a spy

spies6Robert (11:09:56 AM): but i believe both Yvette and I are skilled players. These things aren't usually clashes of skilled players. Said clashes usually do inviolve a guilty party.

spies6Robert (11:10:35 AM): in my experience it's middle of the pack players that usually clash on day 1 and end up both innocent
spies6callahan (11:10:37 AM): if a day 1 lynch is accurate, its almost always because of a slip on someones part
spies6Robert (11:10:46 AM): if two top end players clash, its usually indicative of something at least
spies6callahan (11:11:02 AM): well, I think yvette is a terrible player

spies6Robert (11:11:42 AM): if shes a terrible player, I may well be wrong. Everything i've looked at is with the assumption she's a "star" player

spies6callahan (11:12:58 AM): when a skilled player goes against the less talented
spies6callahan (11:13:02 AM): the skilled player wins
spies6callahan (11:13:28 AM): however, the less talented goes whether they're a spy or citizen
spies6callahan (11:13:52 AM): that being said, if you are as skilled as you say, and she's innocent, you're going to look bad in everyones eyes

spies6Robert (11:16:53 AM): oh, if we are both innocent, the "winner" is going to look bad, i dont deny that
spies6Robert (11:17:07 AM): but then if i worried about that, i'd never start a train, never create a case
spies6callahan (11:17:47 AM): if you get someone innocent exiled, we're going to be on the outs for a very long time
spies6callahan (11:18:16 AM): though I guess there isn't much to lose since you started on the wrong foot and kept walking anyway.

I'm getting fairly frustrated with the recent suspicions on me, but i'm fairly certain "every little thing, is gonna be alright".

[17:33] spies6Yvette: At the same time encouraging me to hide information, and now yet again you are saying that I was bluffing the town by withholding information.

[17:36] spies6callahan: though that doesn't mean i was lying. If i tell you i'm going to flip a quarter, and if it comes up heads i'll give you $10, and it comes up tails and you don't get $10, its not a lie.

If you are a Spy, there is no benefit to you whatsoever to lie about whether you spoke to her or not. It's much more likely that you didn't remember everyone's names, than that you would lie about something that would so easily be contradicted.
