One hour to the big kick-off. Anxious to begin the game, still getting my bearings with the forum and new AIM screen name.

One thing that comes to mind: even though we're encouraged to socialize with the other players pre-game, I'm wary that doing so will lead me to trust people that could later be assigned the spy role and abuse the pre-formed trust. Also if I am assigned spy, people who I talk to pre-game may notice my behavior change after the assignment. Thus I decided not to chat one-on-one with players until the kick-off. Currently waiting in the main chat...

Ok let's see 7 spies...out of 31...so 24 innocents. Head Boss McNeal... The Blueprint...14 and 7/8ths inches wide, 8 covered boxes...feels like Deal or No Deal...or maybe Let's make a Deal. Or hell, Press your Luck. And wow...spies already know. Now I feel like an ass for not checking people out early. I guess you are now reading the confessional of a citizen, determined to fight the good fight My first suspicion is MeiYun. She's been acting very tween-ish and I'm not sure if someone like that would play mafia. If so it's a great cover to use as a spy, and now that I know the spies have been spy-ing for a while, it could be a legit ploy she's using.

Sadly I had social engagements and moving to prepare for, so I could not try for Lotta Power. I did put in a guesstimate for Little Power though.

Day 2...just got back from moving and behind the game a tad. No one's on but MeiYun right now, and it seems that a lot of our team is idle, compared to the other teams online, which is frustrating.

The talk with MeiYun didn't lead much of anywhere other than "we need more people to be active." Will log on later tonight in hopes of talking to other teammates.

Levi seems on the level. Nothing of consquence discussed
Also: I have a role? WTF! I'm a eugenicist, I get powers if I off an inactive player. This would've been nice to know before the active v. inactive threads started. I've stated I'd rather have inactives replaced...but maybe I can spin some wording around. Of course only if it'll actually help the town

Almost everyone agrees that we should off a lurker, not an inactive (however we each choose to define that) except for amelia who spoke up against a lurker lynch. Her defense was that lurkers could be citizens with special powers that don't want to get imprisoned for being active. This could be a spy ploy to protect spy allies, could be a strategy that differs from mine, could be she has a special power and doesn't want to get imprisoned, or she's seen it happen before. I still think the lurker lynch is an investment in the citizens as we owe each other to keep those who are active in the game, otherwise it slows to a crawl.

Everyone's kind of sour on the idea of gretchen getting offed just cause she's done absolutely ZERO. Maybe sam will take her out. Roxy is all for a lurker lynch, which helps my power, but it may be to the point of "phew, I'm not gonna be ferreted out as a spy for now".
Even so, I'm changing my vote to Oswald, the lurker du jour.

I must be the most indecisive player in this game. Talking to oswald now, and we're discussing our doubts of meiyun's sincerity. Is she just blathering on about nothing, or will she actually contribute to the citizen cause?
Plus she threw oswald under the bus VERY suspiciously in the exil thread

If oswald is playing me and is actually pretending to not have played mafia and not having a lot of time for this game, Kudos for a job well done.

Did my first major suspicion post in the exile thread in our team, I'm calling out Mei, for being a bit too busybody. She's sure to react in some way and we can proceed from there. I'm also taking Oswald off the shit list for being inactive, and changing my vote again.

I think I'm gonna make a big press on Mei to see how things turn out. I'm also wary of roxy who seem to be dismissing everything with joking and agreeing with me too much (that's a sign of paranoia, thinking someone who agrees with you must be lying )

After about 4 hours of being online, I've had enough spies chatting for the day. I expect to wake up tomorrow to a shit storm from mei for targetting her, hopefully not the target of a counter-bandwagon

Wow, already Sam's hitting us left and right. So Ariel isn't -immune-, she just has what's equivalent to a big brother Veto. She picks one of the three nominees for exile to save, while the other two go home, and the spies can't imprison her for it. Oy.
I suppose I feel better knowing that my own exile pick may not go for sure, and I just have to hope ariel knows what she's doing. If she's a spy, then there's probably a 0% chance of us sending a spy home, and it'll look really bad if we exile the one she saves and it turns up spy.

It seems Mei and Roxy have been at odds, Roxy thinks Mei's setting her up for an exile. I still don't trust mei, so I may end up aligning myself with the anti mei mob. Problem is that she may be more annoying than actually subversive.

I think I've been baselessly targetting Mei now, it's really just an attitude thing so far, not a spy thing. I'm worried I fanned the flames for her and now have to redact, talking with Ariel helped me see this.

You know what? I'm gonna go with my gut and keep Mei on my suspect list. Ugh, I'm so not used to a fast-paced game of mafia with AIM, everyone's gonna think I'm just going with the flow. The only way to stop that is to stick to my guns and deal with the consequences. I'm so used to backtracking everything I say to make it reflect positively on me, when really I just need to say what I think, how I think it.
Ugh, now I remember why I don't play mafia that much. I'm no good at teamwork X.x

I spoke my piece about MeiYun in the exile thread, and she's my number one suspect now. Unless something big goes down by the end of today, she's getting my vote. Here's what I put for my player-by-player analysis.
Georgia: No idea, haven't chatted much one-on-one if at all. She's not the most active poster, but neither am I. I tend to use AIM more and maybe she does too, I've just missed when she's on. Leaning spy for lurking, but barely
Boris: Citizen vibe, seems to honestly want to steer discussion towards spy hunting and gives strong opinions.
Oswald: Provided he's not playing the naive card falsely, I currently trust him. Our one-on-one chat was encouraging, citizen vibe.
William: Changes his mind too often, doesn't post on the boards enough, never seems willing to call anyone out openly, doesn't contribute to group chats very much.
Gretchen: Have not had the pleasure of chatting with much yet. Understandably thinks I'm lurking because I haven't said much in the forums. leaning spy for lurking again
Roxy: Seems edgy but haven't heard her go at anyone beside Mei so far. In our one chat we agreed upon a few things, unsure if I trust her fully yet. Has yet to weigh in on her real suspects that she's gonna vote for. Leaning cit
Levi: Seems like an honest guy, haven't seen any real suspicious behavior. Facilitates discussion and gives useful opinions. Proactive. Cit Vibe
Kirsten: Reasonably confused by me saying I'd vote her when I previously haven't said anything about her behaviour. Early on seemed to just post about "we should discuss more" "do we want an inactive or not" and meta-gaming stuff like "who would sam pick" which I don't think will get us far. I did suspect her also on behalf of others' suspicions, but that's no way to vote. She does stick her neck out and is discussing much more actual spy hunting now that there's some evidence to go on. Neutral with a tinge of spy
Donald: Everyone thinks he's a lurker. Haven't been able to really one-on-one with him. Says he wants to get to know everyone better before posting suspicions, I can respect that. Has a long spy list, 5 names . Neutral
Amelia: Small chat with her, nothing major. Biggest thing so far: seeming to defend lurking as a legitimate way to avoid imprisonment for power roles. I think that her statements could've encouraged and condoned less activity, which I do not want for the team. Leaning spy
MeiYun: Mei mei mei...Have had the most chats with, and for some reason I still don't really trust her. Sometimes I think it's just her bubbly personality that I assume must be a cover (shouldn't vote for someone being TOO citizen like). Then other times she seems legitimately suspicious, like with the Oswald incident (still unsure about that) and she doesn't seem to reveal much to me in our chats. Here's an example
Quote: 2:14:29 PM spies6william: anyone you currently trust or distrust? or still feeling it all out 2:14:43 PM spies6MeiYun: still feeling it out 2:15:10 PM spies6MeiYun: i mean like i was gonna vote for roxy but talking to her gave me second thoughts 2:15:20 PM spies6MeiYun: its always like that lol 2:15:31 PM spies6MeiYun: i suspect you i talk to you and it seems ok 2:15:35 PM spies6william: yeah, I heard you two had a disagreement or something? 2:15:36 PM spies6william: hha 2:15:45 PM spies6MeiYun: wow who told you? 2:15:57 PM spies6william: roxy, of course 2:16:04 PM spies6william: or at least, a chat 2:17:08 PM spies6MeiYun: seems consistent lol what did she tell you 2:17:37 PM spies6william: nothing more than just you two don't seem to get along at times 2:17:41 PM spies6william: I think it's just an attitude thing 2:18:12 PM spies6MeiYun: did i become so bossy again? 2:19:42 PM spies6william: my bossy comment was about the oswald thing 2:20:04 PM spies6william: I think he got intimidated by you 2:20:46 PM spies6MeiYun: well im nice if i have to but sometimes i mean business you know
She never really told me what went on between them, whereas roxy gave me her side of what they talked about, and then she instead brought up the bossy with oswald issue. I'd like to hear what MeiYun and Roxy really said to each other, and if they still are at odds or have worked something out. Here's what roxy told me about their conversation:
Quote: 2:03:58 PM spies6Roxy: so mei told me i *was* her top suspect 2:05:00 PM spies6william: really? 2:05:12 PM spies6william: did she give a reason 2:05:25 PM spies6Roxy: because of my reaction to her comment or whatever 2:05:38 PM spies6Roxy: so i told her i was supicious of her and she kind of got all defensive 2:06:37 PM spies6william: it might just be both of your different attitudes. she's very happy happy, and you're a bit more confrontational 2:06:44 PM spies6Roxy: hm. 2:07:10 PM spies6Roxy: and then she was like "Why did you tell me i was nice then if you suspect me" or something 2:07:27 PM spies6Roxy: IDK 2:07:33 PM spies6Roxy: she may be gunning for me this exile.
Plus roxy brought it up first, without me prompting her about who she suspected. I take that as a sign of honesty.

OH MY FUCKING GOD I AM HATING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. ALL I WANT TO DO IS JUST STOP TALKING TO EVERYONE. I'm so not cut out for this, the attacks and counter attacks and semi-partriotism tests going around. Give me survivor any day, where I can blindside and such. I'm such a terrible citizen, aparrently every move I make is wrong and completely unsupported by the group.
I don't want to quit, I'm just frustrated. Ugh.

Todays talk with Mei was her saying why she thinks my reasons are crap, then repeatedly saying that my reasons are crap and to not vote for her. she's partially right that some of my suspicions are based on little things, but it's day one and everyone's yelling over small shit. my head's about to explode and I really wish I could just throw something now.
Is it a bad sign that being a citizen or town in a game of mafia makes me want to punch things but I love being a spy? I'm such a sociopath sometimes...
