Hey everyone, So for most of these games, you will be needing Java installed and set up properly. Unfortunately, Gretchen couldn't participate this morning because she didn't have Java installed. After working with her for a while, I got her setup, but here's some tips to help everybody else if you don't already have Java installed. First questionHow do I know if I have Java installed? If you've participated in checkers or alphabets, you probably do. But to check and make sure, go here: www.javatester.org/version.htmlMake sure you see a pink rectangle AND that it says "Java version: x.x.xxx from Sun Microsystems Inc." If it does not have both, you are not set up. For Firefox users: - 1. Click Tools > Options
- Click the Content tab
- Look for the Enable Java checkbox, and make sure it's checked.
- 2. Click Tools > Options
- Click the Main tab
- Click Manage Add-Ons
- Click Plug-Ins
- Scroll down to locate Java (somethingrather here). If there is no Java, look for the installation below.
- If it's there, click it. If it isn't enabled, click Enable.
Instructions for IE will be a little bit different. I'll try to post those if anybody needs it. Get Java downloaded and installedWhile I don't have all the checks and instructions up yet, the most likely scenario is you need to install Java, which is linked to from this website: java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jspYou'll need the second download, "Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)", it's "JRE 6 Update 14" Download and install that, then close and restart your browser. Rebooting your computer shouldn't be necessary, but rebooting your browser should be.

Agreed. That's the first and only game I will be able to try and participate in this round, but you should all make sure you're right to go. Cause believe me, there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to participate or even see what's going on.

If anybody else is having trouble getting your Java working, and these instructions aren't helping, please post here to let me know.
CHECK to make sure your Java works BEFORE you come to the next round. As Gretchen said, it's frustrating to come to a round and not be able to participate cause of this issue.

I'll probably be unavailable until close to the last round, so make Khaled your first point of contact for today.

Heyo. I actually do have a small problem.
Any time I open a Java applet in Firefox, Firefox locks up and I have to restore session it up. Now, if I open that URL in Explorer it works fine, so I can always do that. I just like to stick to Firefox when I can.
