Mirela had a secret, but unlike the Spies’, it wasn’t a malicious one. She and Jenya were planning a surprise birthday party and were rushing to get all of the last minute details in place. Jenya turned the doorknob with her wrist, bumped the door open with her hip, and clomped in, her hands filled with all sorts of birthday decorations. Gifts, wrapping paper, hats, ribbons, and signs. A gorgeous collection of six brightly colored balloons was tied to her wrist. The balloons were floating and bumping all over the place, and would have hit the spinning fan above had Mirela not grabbed them away from her first.
“Close one there!”
Mirela and Jenya began making preparations for Levi’s surprise birthday party, getting many of Levi’s closest friends to attend. They set up the decorations all over the dining and living rooms.
Everyone was excited for the party. The Burg needed a cheerful celebration after the events of the past week. Traitors, Spies, Exiles… it was all too much sometimes. A joyful birthday party would bring back some of that laughter that had been conspicuously absent these past few weeks.

An hour into setting up all the decorations, preparing the food, and wrapping the gifts, a Jenya heard a knock on the door. The guests had arrived!
Gretchen, Georgia, and Kirsten walked into the room, more gifts in hand. Some of the presents were small. Gretchen had bought Levi a wooden horse figurine while Georgia had bought him a 1893 novella about a New York city prostitute called "Maggie: A Girl of the Streets" by Stephen Crane.
Kirsten, however, was never one to do anything simple. She had bought Levi a gigantic birthday arrangement: a triple-layered cake/candy/balloon hybrid piece of art. It was stacked with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry cakes, it was surrounded with candy fireworks made of starburst packs taped to sticks and actual balloons tied to strings around it. Unbeknownst to all but Kirsten, there was also an expensive watch buried at the bottom of the cake. It would be a wonder if anybody could get through the wall of balloons, past the layers of candy, and beneath all the cake to get at it.

While Kirsten tried to find the perfect spot to place her birthday extravaganza, Gretchen and Georgia began talking with Jenya and Mirela.
“I’m so excited for this surprise party,” said Gretchen eagerly. “I haven’t been to one in ages. The last one I went to was one for this cousin who I hate. He’s always snarky, inexplicably rude, and talks to me like I’m a two-year-old child. Actually, I think he might have a crush on me. That’s what my best friend in high school said. She was always very good at picking up on that kind of thing. You know, I never did have that talent. She was telling me all the time about different guys that had crushes on me.”
“Speaking of crushes,” she continued. “That reminds me of that one time she said her gym teacher tried to…”
“This story, again?” interrupted Georgia, sighing. “I’ve heard this story so many times I could retell it by heart. Your account of the sexual harassment lawsuit might have been entertaining the first four times but even that drama bomb loses its luster by the fifth. Involved in any other pending litigation by any chance?”
Gretchen darted a dirty look towards Georgia. Gathering herself, she held her head up high and left to get some punch.

“So…” began Georgia, eager for something to happen. “When’s the party actually going to start? The wine is getting warm.”
“Khaled is supposed to bring Levi by with some excuse around seven.” Mirela said, checking her watch. “That’s in five minutes! Everybody get in your places.”
Mirela turned off the lights and the group hid behind the couch, waiting for Levi to arrive.
Meanwhile, Khaled and Levi walked along the sidewalk and up the steps to Mirela’s house. Khaled had said that Mirela called and wanted to watch the latest Ugly Betty episode, but Levi knew something was up. To test it, he had pretended that he wanted to go out for drinks instead. Khaled ignored him and insisted they go to Mirela's house, and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Levi was about 75% sure that there would be people waiting for him at Mirela’s. The percentage rose to 95% when Levi looked through the window and saw the lights were off. Who keeps their lights off at 7 PM?
Khaled went up to the door and knocked twice before opening it and letting himself and Levi in.

The guests huddled behind the couch, waiting in anticipation for the door to open. They were eagerly awaiting the time when they could finally get up off the ground, chow into some cake, open gifts, and get the party started.
The government agent, poised with a smoke grenade on the balcony above, was also anticipating something. He and his fellow agents grinned as the door opened, ready and primed to carry out their mission.
Tiberius has been fired and Imprisoned by the Spies.
You will never see him again. Tiberius : please post Final Words in your confessional immediately. Judge Sam: “I really enjoyed having you play Tiberius. You brought so much genuine spirit and energy to the game. You’re such a personable person, it’s no wonder why everyone warmed to you from the very start. Reading your detailed and insightful posts in the Burg was always a treat and I like how you summarized each person up individually. You played hard and contributed a lot to the game. You were always positive, friendly, and kind to me and to others in the game which I really appreciated. Players like that are a joy to have play in these games. The Burg has lost a character that almost everyone enjoyed having around and I will too. Thank you for playing.” Judge Sam: “At the last Exile I hinted about someone receiving an astonishing One Hundred Votes… go check out the post in the Burg explaining this Episode’s voting shift. Congrats to the person who receives those 100 votes! Full instructions posted very soon; ask questions. Exile #10 will take place live at 9:00 PM CDT Sunday, votes are due before then. I’ll see you at Exile.” Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone else's. -Billy Wilder
