I like a lot of your ideas, (and I also love the idea of this thread, was about to suggest it myself, glad to know someone like me is a spy). I'd like to know more about what you think you will have your charecter act like, and if you think it would be reasonable to have our charecters as friends, foes or neutrals (in my mind it doesnt really make sense for us to be friends, your persona's an attractive girl and I'm a geeky guy)

i think that, hmm, i think that if we both seem to be on at similar times we should be friends. however, if we are gonna strategically use any cliques we need to be in seperate ones to maximise knowledge gathering

if you are going to the arrogant guy then you should become friendly with the mean, cut throat players!

i was gonna be "everyone's friend" in this game, but selectively go scum hunting with the players who will be deep into analysing!

Devils advocate is a very fine line, and I have been debating it. In some respects it gets you looking like a strategical, logical player but...it gets suspicious very fast.
I do not want some citizens becoming effectively cleared from suspicion, just for saying a few things most people were probably already thinking anyway. That doesnt clear them, and I want to have as few people walking around with that badge as possible

wow this is very good! i always get caught out in mafia when im scum for clearing someones name just to look smart!

all the more reason we should work on different groups of people

or perhaps one of us should take the strategy of become known for being a devils advocate in order to have a tool for clearing our own names!

for my personal strategy to work, and be a friend to everyone, i think you should praise me, dont be fooled by my looks im a nice gal

Actually, I have completly forgotten that part of the game. Praise.
You bring up a good point, because you can either suspect someone, think they are safe OR praise them.
Saying someone has a good idea isnt really bandwagoning or if what someone is doing is good, so yes, I think I will praise (subtely and unfrequently) yours and other spies efforts in what they are doing.

The flip side of this, that I think Angus did well at, is criticizing cits for not doing enough. It never hurts to point out cits who are not actively hunting for spies. And it makes it easier to vote for them: even if they're not a spy they are not really helping the cits.

I agree completly Jaya, and I hope that is something that we can use, but that I feel is definetely a later game strategy. Giving that as a reason so early on in the game seems so suspicious to me, and I'm a spy for goodness sake
