My thoughts:
Like Ellis said, it was indeed a 'fiasco' and I do love my fiascos! I am so happy with how it went it was incredible. Almost everything turned out very well. I was so worried it would be over in an hour or less just like forum mafia round was so to at least see people take it seriously was great. 11/15 showed up at the start, I was hoping for 12 since I pushed really hard for everyone to come but what can ya do. Then out of those 6/11 stayed to the end! That's pretty crazy. Plus everyone except Amelia (not surprised) showed up and dropped by even if just for a little bit. Those 11 stayed like anywhere from 2-4.5 hours which was incredible.
Although at first I didn't like the break before/after this, now it turns out that might be a good idea. The event was built up a lot and people were eager to play after such a long break which led them to stay. Plus after 5.5 hours playing Spies everyone needs a break so now we have 2 days to cool off. (I hope they write more confessionals though! I've read a few but not really that many... this remaining group aren't much for confessionals, which is ok cause a lot just post thoughts in the Burg, but you guys were my prime confessional-writers. I get my fix by reading this forum really. )
At first during the Exile I was like wow... talk about boring lol. With this group I thought it would be rambunctious with everyone trying to get their opinions in. But I guess with me pimping out the consensus meeting structure, and the roles, and with roxy/mirela gone, it morphed into some ultra-logical government meeting haha. Was totally not expecting that. I was like "wow I can't believe viewers are still here talk about dull."
But then I would go do other stuff and come back every half hour or so and that was more fun haha. I still can't believe they questioned Rey on Amelia for an hour and a half lmao. So around the 3 or 4 hour mark it really started to pick up with people talking more and finally getting around to their opinions.
It's just really interesting to me how the whole thing played out. There's so many ways they could have done it. They could have said "everyone, post all your thoughts in the Burg and we'll discuss through there." That would have let everyone give all their opinions and discuss all that simultaneously. Might have been better than just one person talking about one thing at one time.
They could have said "Everyone list who you think the three Spies are. We'll look at the lists and see if any one person is listed by most of the people." They could have divided things up into chat rooms.
In the end their method, if long, seemed to work alright though it was very interesting that the topic stayed on one person for so long. Did anyone try and bring up another name? If they couldn't all agree on Amelia or Rey, why not see if there was a consensus on someone like Boris? It seemed stuck on Amelia/Rey especially stuck on Rey at the end like it wasn't going to budge.
And then at the very end it got pretty emotional... after Rey left after being questioned and accused of lying for like 3 straight hours lol. That would make anyone frustrated. We kept getting so close to lynching Rey like one vote away and then someone would say 'no, let's wait' and we all had to wait another half hour lol. It was so close so many times it was so nerve-wracking!
Around the five hour mark most people had had it and wanted Rey gone but there were a few holdouts. I wonder if they were being talked to in private AIM. I'm really curious if more than what I know was going on behind-the-scenes I'll have to ask them. I know of a little bit that was going on behind the scenes haha can't wait to tell those stories after the game!
So at that point we were getting so close to Exile, and to be honest I was ready for an exile as well haha, and that last push to get a few people over the edge to agree to exile Rey was pretty nerve-wracking. The end of that long chat was interesting.
