Citizen: "Hi, I've been outed as having won the role investigation. I have top secret info that I don't want to share just yet." Spies: "/stab, you're dead."
Spy: "Um, yeah I won the Cit role investigation. I investigated, uh, someone that it's public knowledge does not have a Cit role." Citizen: "oh."

I voted for Ellis. By the way, this idea is destined for failure. I won't elaborate why.

Just think about it Thor.
It can become a total failure, if not handled properly. Obviously there is some reasoning behind it. Whether truth or not; remains to be seen.

While we're at it, could the Doctor please claim? You haven't really done a stellar job and I would like to give you a severe tongue lashing. Odd that you say this considering: 1) The nightkills have mostly seemed unexpected. 2) The doctor just got Imprisoned--did you miss that somehow? Can you please explain your statement? . . . I missed that the doctor was imprisoned, and I was just kidding around about the doctor doing a bad job. Obviously being a doctor is a tough thing.

I voted for... ... wait a second. Before anyone else blabbers their vote, why is this a good idea again? We want to figure out who got the role investigation so we can do what? The first time someone asked me if I knew who won it, that request struck me as spyish. This is a good idea because I think I can catch a spy from it. I'm not positive about that, but it really does not hurt to try. Now, I'm interested in the opposition to the idea and why people think it's a bad idea. if we know how everyone voted, we'll know who won it and... hm. i'm finding this difficult to reason in a way that make sense. because my train of thought would involve potential outing a role, which is a BAD thing. Ah, I love the smell of fearmongering. 1. There's a good chance we will not even out the person who won it, if the spies won it and proceed to lie about who they chose (yes, I expect the spies to lie). In this case, we would be outing one player who got the most "lied about" votes and that player can simply deny. In other words, we'd be outing one player who didn't get it. 2. Even if we do, we're not outing a role. We're outing a player who has 1 piece of information that is likely not even relevant to the game at all. Having a citizen as "does this player have a role or not" is not exactly gamebreaking, and I don't think it's harmful at all to out that player. I submitted Kirsten. How do you know everyone will tell the truth? I don't. I expect lies, deceit, manipulation. I hope to be able to discern useful information through the murkiness, though. I submitted Kirsten. How do you know everyone will tell the truth? if we come up with someone who got the most votes but they didn't actually recieve it, then we know either that person is lying or one of the people who say they voted that person is lying. This is not necessarily true. There is one other possibility. Someone who came close to the top of the voting has people lie about voting for them, and thus it looks like they got less votes than they actually did, artificially inflating someone else. However. If it didn't go to a spy. Then that person could possibly become a target. also this. :-\ I doubt it. The spies are going to imprison someone because they got a near useless role investigation in episode 3? If a citizen has it, and if they used it to catch someone, then it would have been announced by now. ---------------------------------------------------------- New idea. And one I'm sure will involve people crying bloody murder, but here it is: We get the use of PMs back tomorrow. Every living player tells me via AIM or via PM who they chose. Unless I'm a spy attempting to determine who I want to imprison (haha, no) then there will be absolutely no harm in informing me privately who you chose. I will keep everyone's choice private (sorry to those that claimed publicly already, even though it really isn't nearly the big deal everyone is making out of it). I will publicly reveal my reasons behind asking for this after I have gotten everyone's target. And then hopefully the information is what I expect and I can proceed to present it, have people scoff at it as WIFOM or inconclusive, but have it be right nonetheless. Sounds like a plan!

She had me fooled into trusting her. I feel really dumb. And now, time for celebration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE GOT ANOTHER SPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY THREE LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF! I'm really sorry. I was wrong about Iris. I can't believe she wasn't a citizen because she had to lie about her role and all that, and it was just, you know, the twist, and all that. I feel so stupid now. Wow, I'm...speechless. I'm such an idiot.
Ugh, I need a drink guys. I'm so upset right now. I just take it too seriously sometimes. I'm happy we got a spy, but...I'm fucking useless as a spy hunter. Vote me out next week before I have a chance to defend another spy.

Should've pushed that one harder. Also, boo on 8p on a Friday. That cuts into designated party time, aka I probably won't be here. Kirsten's thought. Revealing this thing is only useful if done in secret or simultaneously, and if done AFTER the spies have made their imprisonment choice. Why it should be done that way should be fairly obvious. Furthermore, you, as an individual, are inherently untrustworthy to receive this information exclusively, and there should be one other person involved. This gives an extra level of checking on all involved parties. I would suggest that we vote to determine who our two collectors are should we choose to do this, but that will defeat the original purpose of the secret ballots for handing out the role investigation in the first place. Regardless of that, we should discuss whether or not it is even worthwhile to make this information available and then public. Finally, we neglect the fact that we miss out on the following player's votes: Ed, Ellis, Faith, Donald, Iris, and potentially Gabriela. I think it'll be useless since we miss out on six votes and thusly have to speculate about where they went. I also don't see it yielding any useful information, even if it is done correctly. Also, Amelia. Pack your things. We've got a nice place set up for you, AWAY from the rest of us.

I'm about as trustworthy as it gets right now, from catching Donald to trying to rally an exile on Iris that resulted in her fake claim that got her easily lynched this time around. My voting history is 2 spies, 2 unknowns (or 3/3 if you want to count doubling up), which has to be one of the best in the game right now, if that is something that appeals to you more. I think you are missing the point. I have more information about this than other players do. That is why I need to be in on it. This isn't just a "hey let's reveal the role investigation for fun" party. This is a "hey, I have information here, and I'm interested in seeing what I can get from it." In retrospect, I should have done this earlier, but better now than never. If it's really that big of a deal (and it's not) then we can vote on someone to be appointed as a congressional oversight committee. I will let them in on it, and they can make sure I'm not a cheating scoundrel. It's a 1-shot role investigation, based on voting that took place in episode 3. If a citizen got it and got useful information for catching a spy, it would have been revealed by now. This is not the huge "oh no, revelation of hidden information, no!" that everyone is making of it. I think it'll be useless since we miss out on six votes and thusly have to speculate about where they went. I also don't see it yielding any useful information, even if it is done correctly. Ah, well I do think it has potential to yield useful information. And I will admit right now that I know how some of those dead players voted. So it's not 6 unanswered for votes.

spies6.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=burg90999&action=display&thread=1332This is Iris' post from her confessional right after she was let out of her box. I figure it would be worth going back to look at it now that it's confirmed she was a spy. I would have loved to see those conversations Iris had with Khaled and Levi that she mentions, but I know it's sort of a no no to post a substantial number of conversations with dead spies.

Jenya had a throwaway vote on me. She should be purged!
Also, Khaled, I agree that privately is the way to go, to avoid scum "wagoning" their fake votes based on how citizens claim to have voted.
But rest assured, I will be harassing people about this once we exit the forum mafia sub-game.
